All of us at Shyn are both outraged and devastated by the facts and circumstances around the death of George Floyd. Not only am I a Black Man and the CEO of Shyn, but our company is made up of Americans of all races and colors and much of what has happened over the past week has deeply impacted us all. The brutality and hate we’ve seen recently weighs heavy on our hearts and as a company, we will always be against racial injustice and the voices of hatred.

I feel fortunate to have a platform to speak out both against violence towards the black community and advocate for causes that can bring positive change. The systemic issues plaguing our country emerge from a culture that started more than 400 years ago, and it takes more than a few weeks to undo a system that has been built over centuries. The progress of our forefathers cannot be for naught and, as we can see, there is more to do, each and every day.

Activism is a powerful tool. I encourage you to donate, sign petitions and amplify your voices to drown out the voices of racial injustice and hate. As a company we want to empower our customers to help with this cause. In the month of June, Shyn will donate proceeds from our midnight black toothbrush sales to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that fights against hatred and bigotry while seeking justice and advocating for the most vulnerable members of our society.
